1971 SUPER BEE -- 383, 4-Speed

By Sam Wise

My first car was a 1972 dodge charger with the 400 magnum engine. As most of did I sold it when I got married in 1980. I missed it so much that I went on a mission to find something close. I was living in PA at the time and I caught wind of two '71 Super Bees sitting in an old barn appr. 10 miles from where I lived. I went and looked at them and decided immediatly that I wanted them. I new sometime in my life I would at least have one of them restored. I bought them from an old man who obviosly new nothing about these cars for next too nothing back in 1992. The one was in good overall shape and the other one was basiccally going to be a parts car when I have it restored. The bee in good condition was completly origanal except for the motor. I discoverd that someone before I purchased them removed the 383 motor and replaced it with a 1968 440 magnum. This car went into restoration in 2003. I just received a call that it is complete. I will be going back to PA to pick it up in mid Sept. I will at some point take pictures and get you some information on this.

Thanks,
Sam
